Karan Johar’s Student of the Year was Siddharth Malhotra’s stepping stone to success

Siddharth Malhotra began his career walking the runway for Indian and international designers including Roberto Cavalli, Manish Arora, Manish Malhotra and Rohit Bal. He began modeling at the age of 16 and has won several titles including Gladrags Face of the Year 2009 award and the NDTV Model of the Year 2010. The 28-year-old actor then bagged his first film, Student of the Year, alongside newcomers Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt.

In Karan Johar’s Student of the Year, Siddharth plays the role of Abhimanyu Singh, better known as Abhi. A state level runner from a middle class family, Abhi enrolls at the prestigious St. Teresa’s High School on scholarship, a home to some of the richest and most affluent students. Here, he meets Shanaya Singhania (Alia Bhatt) and her boyfriend Rohan Nanda (Varun Dhawan). He falls in love with Shanaya and befriends Rohan. When Shanaya’s boyfriend finds out about Abhi’s intentions, a rivalry ensues.

The Karan Johar film released on the 19th of October and was crowned a blockbuster!
