Karan Johar rumored to have roped in Siddharth Malhotra for an action flick

Siddharth Malhotra made headlines when he made his first big-screen appearance when he stared in Karan Johar’s fifth directorial venture, Student of the Year. The 28-year-old made his Bollywood debut with the film, playing in the lead alongside newcomers Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt. While Siddharth plays the new kid at school in the film, Varun plays Alia’s boyfriend. The film released on the 19th of October and was crowned a blockbuster. After his first, Siddharth was roped in to star in an upcoming film, Hasee Toh Phasee. This film will be the actor’s secsiddharth malhotraond and will have him star alongside Parineeti Chopra in the lead. To be directed by Vinil Mathew, this film too is being produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.

And that’s not all. This well-chiseled model-turned-actor will next be seen in yet another Dharma Productions film. Supposedly an action-adventure film, the movie will be co-produced with UTV. Also, Karan has roped in choreographer-director to lend a hand in scripting the film. “Although the details are being kept under wraps, the genre will be similar to that of the hit Hollywood film franchise, The Fast and the Furious. Siddharth’s role will be very different from how he was seen in SOTY,” says an insider.

The film will have all the glamour and extravagance you’d expect in one of Karan’s films, sprinkled with exciting action sequences and adventure. “The script has already been finalized. Both Karan and UTV are impressed with Remo’s writing because it has a lot of soul,” adds a source, speaking about the untitled film. Siddharth, Remo and Karan have however remained unavailable for official statements and comments on the film.
