Varun Dhawan has created a mark for himself in B-town with his fabulous debut in Karan Johar’s fifth directorial venture, Student of the Year. Starring in the lead alongside two more newcomers, Siddharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt, Varun’s performance in the film was well-received by both, members of the Bollywood industry as well as fans.
Speaking out on the recent tragedy in Delhi, the actor went on to articulate, “It’s sad to see that men don’t respect women. I feel that every man should object when he sees someone saying or doing something insulting to a woman near him. It doesn’t matter whether she’s your sister, friend or even someone unknown.” Varun has taken a strong stand against the crimes against women being committed in India and around the world.
The young actor also went on to add, “As an Indian man, how can you tolerate a woman being harassed before you? Aren’t we taught to respect women since childhood? I find it appalling when people just stand and look. I think we need to change our attitude as soon as possible.” Varun, the son of the veteran filmmaker David Dhawan, is just as infuriated with the Delhi rape case as the rest of the country.
He will be seen in an upcoming film titled Main Tera Hero. The film, a Telugu remake of Kandireega (2011), will be produced by Ekta Kapoor and directed by David Dhawan.
